The Club 3D Radeon HD 7990 is an uncompromising masterpiece of breathtaking performance. As the world’s fastest and most advanced graphics card, it descends from generations of AMD Radeon graphics cards that wore the same crown. And with a heritage like that, you know what you’re getting: an unparalleled experience wherein gaming is everything... but not the only thing. All hail the new king.
You deserve to play the world's most demanding games at the highest resolutions and maximum detail settings, never settle for less.
Engineered as the world's most advanced graphics, is the industries first 28nm GPU design. It features 6GB GDDR5 of RAM, and two of the world's fastest GPU's in a single graphic card, providing 4096 stream processors of raw power.
Equipped with the latest technologies, such as PCI-E 3.0 support, AMD Eyefinity Technology for gaming on three or more displays and the incredible efficient AMD ZeroCore Power technology. Gamers should never settle for anything less.
"Yeah it can play Crysis, faster than anything else"
The Club 3D Radeon HD 7990 with the dual slot, three variable speed 80mm low noise fan blade design combined with high performance heatpipes promotes cooler running temperatures under load, which leads to quieter operation, and increases overclocking and performance potential.
The metal backplate significantly improves the PCB strength and reduces electrical noise.
AMD GCN Architecture
Designed to push not only the boundaries of DirectX 11 gaming, the GCN Architecture is also AMD's first design specifically engineered for general computing. Equipped with 64 compute units (4096 stream processors), each containing a scalar coprocessor, AMD's 28nm GPUs are more than capable of handling workloads-and programming languages-traditionally exclusive to the processor. Coupled with the dramatic rise of GPU-aware programming languages like C++ AMP and OpenCL, the GCN Architecture is truly the right architecture for the right time.
AMD Eyefinity Technology
Step beyond the confines of a single monitor and embrace the true potential of PC gaming with the ultra-high resolutions of AMD Eyefinity multi-display technology on the Club 3D Radeon™ HD 7990.
Supporting multiple independent display outputs simultaneously, AMD Eyefinity technology delivers innovative graphics display capabilities enabling massive desktop workspaces and ultra-immersive visual environments for the ultimate panoramic computing experience.
AMD Radeon™ graphics hardware is built to support two key technologies: the DirectX 11.1 API and a new way of designing GPU drivers called “Windows Display Driver Model 1.2” (WDDM 1.2).1 Together, these technologies enable a range of new features for Windows 8 and supporting software.
Multi Stream Transport (MST) Hub*
The Club 3D MST hub is a hub device that receives a DisplayPort 1.2 MST signal from the source device and splits up and routes the video streams independently to each display device. Using this type of configuration also allows the use of non DisplayPortTM 1.2 monitors. Non DisplayPort outputs, such as VGA, DVI or HDMI, the Club 3D MST hub is DP++ and can actively convert the DisplayPort signal to the other types of display interface signals.
The MST hub compliments well the Radeon HD 7990, allowing the support of more monitors from the native 5 display support.
This is what KitGuru had to say about the new HD7990
"AMD are making no hardware compromises with this HD7990 Malta graphics card, it ships with 6GB of GDDR5 memory and can support 5 monitors simultaneously. It has 48 lanes to give 96GB/s of intergpu bandwidth.
This is a card designed from the ground up to cope with the very highest image quality settings and resolutions and today we will test a variety of Direct X 11 games at 2560×1600 and 5760×1080 resolutions." Read the full review by Kitguru here
