ATI Radeon HD 5450 based XFX HD 5450 version has a 40nm fabrication process manufactured GPU with 80 stream processors and GPU core stock clocked at 650MHz. For video memory, XFX offers two versions of this Radeon HD 5450 in 512MB GDDR2 and 1GB GDDR3 memory both use 64-bit memory bus interface. Video memory is clocked between 800MHz-1600MHz.
Introduced as a replacement for HD 4350, this new XFX HD 5450 will support DirectX 11, OpenGL 3.2, DirectCompute 11 and OpenCL. The video transcoding buffs can make the best of ATI Stream technology support that promises faster video transcoding.
XFX also offers both GDDR2 and GDDR3 version of cards with an option for HDMI and DisplayPort out as well. However, only one XFX Radeon HD 5450 with GDDR3 video memory and DisplayPort option supports ATI Eyefinity technology with ATI Catalyst Driver v1.90. The Eyefinity technology allows hooking up three displays to the computer.
Apart from the above, this XFX HD 5450 graphics card also brings ATI Avivo HD video and display technology for better HD movie playback experience. Power management for this graphics card would be managed through the ATI PowerPlay technology.
One may find the price of this card bit high than what we mentioned in our HD 5450 review, but the additional cost comes from add-in card manufacturer's end. This card will compete with Nvidia's GeForce GT 220 graphics with GDDR2 video memory
